  The guy that runs this place is one of the worst people I've met in my life.
  We rented two canoes. All the paddles that we got were damaged with splinters sticking out, and an hour in we realized that our hands would suffer greatly over the three day trip. Not wanting to lose time and strength by turning back, we used duck tape that we had with us to cover up the most damaged parts of the paddles.
  Upon return he claimed we caused the damage and wouldn't take reasonable arguments.
  He told me to keep the paddles and pay him for brand new ones (he asked for double what they were selling for at Canadian Tire). Threatened to call the cops, and since there's a single 40km road out of the place, apparently they would be waiting for me where the road meets the highway.
  After a bunch of reasoning he agreed to charge me half price. Since he told me to keep the paddles, I figured it's a decent compromise, since we have a 5 hour drive home I figured it wasn't worth my time to keep arguing, or dealing with police. After I paid he forcefully took the paddles out of my hands and locked the doors.
  I really should've called the cops, but didn't feel like wasting time.
  
  Before I booked the rentals I heard from acquaintances that he charged them almost a $1000 for apparently damaging a canoe while they swore they did no such thing, there was no leak, and cosmetic damage must've been there before. I thought they just didn't want to confess to damage they did. I realize now that this is probably how he makes his money

  They had premium gas available at a decent price however they don't serve food so you may as well take the extra ~20km and head to Rockies for food and gas when snowmobiling
